Humpty Hump Day!

Boy, the week is flying by, once again!

Well, its another cold morning down here on the farm....49 degrees again.  I am gearing up for the daily work-out and then plan to work on the second book. As promised, I am going to announce the title for the 3rd book in the the Ghostkiller series soon. Might do it Friday....a little encouragement by those who read this blog might inch it along? LOL

I've noticed that there are a few folks on my friends list who don't know anything about the books, so I plan to fix that, with a few FB and Myspace posts regarding the series. I keep forgetting that I click ok to people to be my friend, but they don't always know that I'm a writer or whatever, so this'll fix that I think!

I posted a really cool picture on FB regarding book three. If you didn't see it, take a look. I plan to use it when marketing the books online. I've been working on a lot regarding the books lately and will launch it all soon. I hope I have a publishing deal to announce soon, as well! We shall see what the spirits have in mind for me with that!

Have a great day everyone and remember, the leaves will be falling soon; think of me when you watch them swirl and twirl and remember to listen to their whispers!

Tuesday, a day of inventivness!

Hello all,

Once again, I find myself sitting here at my desk, contemplating the news of the day. It seems the are three literary agents interested in me and my work! THREE!! I go from 0 to 3 in a day...WOW! Now, to impress them enough to generate a contract from one of them....that's the goal!

I re-wrote a short bio this morning and have been working on beefing up the website, making sure the hype is front and center. They say you never get a second chance at a first impression!

I just returned from a trip to the grocery store and am now settling down to work on this ad. I also am working on that piece I wrote yesterday announcing the leaves' return this fall...that was really cool if I do say so myself!

I'll be posting some things later today, I promise! Go to the FB page to see it there first!

Have a great day all!

Monday, Monday....

Hello there, my fellow readers! Thanks for hanging in there with me while I figure out this whole blogging thing!

Last Friday found me chasing my tail as I prepared for a weekend of guests and good food! I regretfully did not have time to blog, but there was nothing to tell anyway. Still waiting for word on what is going on from my consultant in regards to the writer's conference this past weekend. There is no new movie news either, BUT, I have some news of my own....

Over the weekend, I had some ideas for the 3rd book title. As you may or may not know, it has been untitled since it's inception. The only thing I have revealed is that it's going to be based on Tecumseh's vision. I had the title of the book come to me in a flash of creativity....not sure when I will release it, however. Might try to plan a bit of teasing first!

I am still working on the ad for the e-book and plan to get it out this week. I hate to put time frames on the stuff I work on because I work from home and there is always something getting in the way of my progress here. You readers will be the first to know when I do reveal the ad, the title and any news...it'll be posted here first!

So, til tomorrow, have a great day all!

PS: Here is today's FB post- written as I sat here listening to the trees blowing in the wind and watching the sunrise this morning!

The time is nigh for the leaves to scatter~ But do not ignore their mindless chatter~ For when the trees begin their tale~ Of ancient wisdom from behind the veil~ They'll tell you of a book they wrote~ And beg of you to please take note~ The title will be soon revealed~ "To our delight" the readers squealed!- Lynny Prince

Is it Thursday already?

Wow! This week is flying by! Seems like time has sped up sometimes, at least to me. I believe I read something to that effect once, too. It talked about how we are approaching 2012 and as we do, time will speed up, as if we are racing towards something...hum. At any rate, it is going faster to me and to a lot of other people, but that's a whole other blog.

I don't really have anything more to report as far as the book/movie goes. The latest on the movie is that investors are waiting in the wings for the presentation and once they receive it, and love it, they will be more than willing to pour millions of dollars into its production.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hey, dreaming big has gotten me this far, which is much further than the average author EVER gets!

There is still no word on a literary agent or publisher yet, either, but to acquire a LEGITIMATE one takes time and patience, not the hurry-up-and-get-your-book-out-there types, which NEVER pay YOU, the author, an advancement. They want YOU to pay THEM and leech off your dream like a sucking fish! SO any of you authors out there who are looking to be published, go through the proper channels and do it the only way that is legit- hard work and dedication!

Anyhoo, I am rambling....it's time to go work out with Gilad, whom the Wall Street Journal calls, "An Israeli stud-muffin" LMAO

Have a great Thursday all! Oh, and try to stay cool. We are under a fire danger right now with the drought conditions we are facing, and today promises to be hotter than the ten fires of hell!!! No fires, cookouts or cigarettes thrown from your vehicle!

Carry on!

Taking the day off!

Dear Computer,

I'm leaving you. At least for a day. We haven't been getting along lately and well, I feel we need to take a break. The facebooking and myspacing and blogging and query letters and research and book work has just become too much, as I ramble around in this big house all alone listening to the silence....there just comes a time when a girl has to have a day to herself, and today is it.

So, I know its going to be hard, but we're going to spend the day apart. I have a chance to go help lay tile in a basement and believe it or not, that work and sweat sounds refreshing to me today.

We'll talk when I get home.

I'll always love you,
Lynny

Tuesday Afternoon

Hidy-ho! It's Tuesday and I have not gotten anything accomplished on the 2nd book since Friday of last week! Why? Because I have been super busy with many other important things that I won't bore you with here, BUT! I did manage to get all the documents finished that my consultant wanted...what's that? I didn't tell you that I hired a consultant? Weeeelllllllll, let me just tell you that I did, and he is helping me get things together to present to some important contacts in the publishing world! Yes, Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller is about to climb up another rung on the success ladder, if you can believe that!

His name is Robert Yehling and he knows his stuff! I was sent to him by my friend Brian Wilkes, another author and all-around great guy. Robert and I spoke on the phone last week, and he has agreed to help me out by getting Scattered Leaves info into the hands of some top-notch literary agents in L.A. I just can't wait to see how this all turns out! I have good feelings about it, knowing of course, that the spirits are driving this train!

Anyhoo, that's about it for today. There's no movie news to report, but as soon as there is I will post it. As of right now, the presentation is almost ready to present to the investors and once that happens, things will really start clickin'!

I am going to work on the 2nd book in the series this afternoon; those that aren't aware yet, that one will be called Ghostkiller: Beyond the Legend. I am kicking around the idea of having readers suggest a title for the last in this series. I am also kicking around ideas for more books, maybe branch off with these characters to include stories about their lives AFTER their mission is complete? Just ideas right now, nothing set in stone.

So go out and have a great day on purpose, and tune in tomorrow for more in the saga of the publishing/movie world of Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller!!

The Goal

Good morning everyone!

In keeping site of the goal, I plan a full day of work. Well, after I work on me, of course! Yoga at 8:30 AM and aerobics at 10 AM set the stage for my day. I work best when I've worked out first!

So, yesterday I didn't get a chance to upload any pics of the ad I am working on, but will try to later today. A close friend lost her mother and today is the viewing. My husband and I will be visiting the funeral home this evening- the same funeral home my mother and grandmother were at. This is a childhood friend, and we found it rather comforting that our mothers' were going to be buried at the same place.

At any rate, the ad for the e-book is coming along. It is a photo of Rick Mora with the moon beside him, in blue hues, which is very cool. I might end up creating my own graphic for this tho, because I am not loving it as it is. Also, I don't want to infringe on the creator of this particular photo, which looks to be graphic art. The image of him, however, I am free to use.

So, if all goes well, there will be two blogs today! Keep your fingers crossed LOL

Best today and always!

Gray morning....

This morning started gray and rainy, but I still managed to get up the mustard to do a little yoga....pardon my misuse of the condiment, but have you ever wondered where "cut the mustard" came from? Me either.

So today I am designing an ad campaign for the e-book, "Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller".
It's for sale on Amazon, and once I had the final editing completed (yes, there are a few subtle changes from the original, plus punctuation errors were fixed, THANK YOU JENN) I put it up for sale to sooth the crowd of screaming fans who were demanding a book!

Actor Rick Mora, (Twilight) who is the face of Kyle Ghostkiller on the conceptual movie posters, has graciously given permission to use his face for the e-book campaign. He is such a nice guy and so willing to get this story out there! You see, there is more to this story than just an author wanting to be published, and as all other authors will tell you, my story is the greatest ever told haha.

Seriously, the book covers an era that has gotten little attention, which was the time before the Civil War and the things that were happening during the Civil War for Native Americans. The Great Sioux Uprising was a pivotal time for the Santee (Dakota Sioux), but more about that later. For now, I am off to by some organic honey, of which I ran out some time ago. Can't have my vinegar-water-lemon drink without it! After that, I shall debut an ad I have been working on for the e-book.

Have a marvelous day!

My First Blog!

Welcome to my blog!

I have been resistant to blogging for some time. Oh, I have a blog on the myspace page regarding the book, but have not kept up with it. It wasn't until I spoke with a highly regarded editor in the book publishing world that I realized I needed a blog to help build my platform for marketing! I have to find the patience to do so, as well as the time, because writing books already takes up a huge chunk of my waking hours as it is and I am finding it harder and harder to stay on task lately. Must be the change in season. Anyway, to blog or not to blog? I'm blogging!

I plan to use this to document my journey through the publishing/movie world. My book, "Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller" needs a new publisher, and I am working on that daily. Meanwhile, I have signed a movie deal and am finding it interesting that the book is still in need of a publisher; I would think that publishers would be scrambling to get a hold of it! At any rate, this is the plan:

Find a literary agent who can find a reputable publisher, preferably with a big name pubishing house.

Thanks for stopping by and for more about me, please visit my website!

Stay tuned...
