Turmeric Milk - My Experience

So, last night I made turmeric milk for the first time. Before I post the recipe, let me just go over a few things.

I am trying to find a solution for the inflammation in my body, a miracle to get rid of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, the miracle to help me lose weight and regrow hair, too. Not asking for much, am I?  LOL

I am going to try this for about a week to see how I feel. I'll keep you all posted.

The recipe I used is off of a video I can't find now. I will post it when I do find it, and I will. The history tag went missing off my browser bar, so I have to figure out how to find it again. Chrome. UGH.

Anyway, here is the recipe I used. It smelled and tasted like french toast milk to me, and I couldn't hardly taste the coconut at all. Here is the recipe with photos of the exact ingredients I used, too.

This starts with making a paste that you can save in the fridge so you can make more "Golden Milk."

Turmeric
To make the paste:
Stir 1/2 c water and 1/4 c turmeric in saucepan. Cook 10 min adding a little water if needed, to keep it pasty. Remove from heat, let cool, and store in jar in fridge for up to to weeks.

For the milk:
Black peppercorns
Put 2 cups of organic coconut milk, (I used one 13 oz. can of Simple Truth Organic from Kroger), 1 tsp of our turmeric paste we just made, 1 tsp chopped ginger, (I had to use powdered because my fresh ginger went missing from the freezer)  1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp coconut oil, 4 to 6 black pepper corns, & Stevia to taste (about 1/2 tsp.) The coconut oil (fat) and the peppercorns are vital for absorption of the turmeric and releasing the healing properties of it.
Cinnamon and ginger powder

Stir and simmer on low for 10 min. Strain. Sprinkle with nutmeg and drink before bed. I thought it tasted like french toast milk! LOL

I drank a little more than 1/2 a cup, then a added the rest of what was in the pan to my cup, and placed it in the fridge for the next night. I didn't want to overdo it my first time just in case I had some sort of reaction. I have read that too much turmeric can make you have nausea, diarreah, and a few more unpleasant side effecst. You will probably want to look that up youself before making this milk.

I started to get sleepy about an hour or so in...maybe less. I slept good, although I am still trying to get used to the sleep apnea machine, too, so....things are a bit rough for me right now!

If you make this milk, please post if you liked it and if it helped you!

Remember, I am working on a store that features all the things I am using to get healthy; books, supplements, food, and I'll be posting recipes here, too. I got a great one from Cook Yourself Thin that I made and it was FAB! A chocolate/oatmeal/peanut butter bar that is just incredible. I post it soon. Meanwhile, take a look at my store!

As always, use this at your own risk! This is not a substitute for a doctor visit or as medical advice! (gotta post that for the internet police lol)

Til next time,
YOU ARE LOVED!
